The chicken or the egg?

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? For centuries, this question has plagued our nation…, possibly the world. Yet, I believe there is an answer.

On the sixth day, God spoke forth this answer:

And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds–livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. – Genesis 1:24-25

Just as God created Adam (Genesis 2:7), as a breathing human being, He also created the chicken as a breathing animal (Gen 1:30, 2:19), not an egg.

No further questions your honor!

  1. That has been my explanation for years. I have never understood why people have so much trouble with that question. Glad you finally set them straight.
