Trust in God

Is there something that currently holds you in a state of worry? Are you concerned about school, finances, your children, your job, the economy? Don’t!

What? I said “DON’T!” Don’t worry. You see, everything that we see in this world, everything we stress about, everything that we worry about is of this world. God tells us not to focus on the worries of this world, but to focus on Him.

The only thing that we should really be concerned about in this world is the lost, the unbelievers – those who don’t know God. For those people who don’t know God will have an eternal death as their future. Everything else that we focus on (school, finances, family, jobs, etc) are but things that will soon pass away.

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” – Isaiah 12:2

God is the God of our Salvation. He is the God that forgives and forgets.

  • He is the reason we exist (we were created by Him)
  • He is the reason we will exist (living eternally as Christians in Heaven), and
  • He is the reason that we are here (to bring the lost to Him).

Therefore, while we all have a job to do or an education to obtain, we are all responsible to bring the lost to Christ. We are living witnesses to bring the Good News to the world. Don’t lapse in your job or at school, but don’t be so focused on activities or worries of the world that you fail to achieve the Great Commisison the Jesus gave us. After all, it was the last guidance that He gave us before ascending to be with His, and Our Father in Heaven.

Matthew 28:18-20 – And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.

Some people will say “I understand all this, but I’m still afraid to tell people.” You might think that you just can’t talk to people about God. Well, guess what? You’re not alone; you don’t have to do it by yourself! You see the final thing Jesus told us in this same passage (Matthew 28:20) was “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Jesus is with us; He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell with us and give us the words we need to speak to those who need to hear the Word.

Trust in Him. Don’t worry. Speak the Word – to all people.
