“The Lord is my strength and my shield, in him my heart trusts, and I am helped,; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.”
How often do you give thanks to God with songs? Do you do it just on Sundays? Or are you there on Wednesdays too? What about the other 5 days of the week? Do you just sit idly by and not sing to the Lord? Ok, so you say you don’t have a “singing” voice. Well, God didn’t give me one either, and I’ll promise you that you don’t want to hear it! However, isn’t the voice of your child pleasant to your ears when he/she shows you their love? So is your voice to the Lord, as you praise His name!
How many of you listen to the radio on the way to work or school? And what station or type of music do you listen to? With technology such as satellite radio, CDs, MP3s, and even just FM radio – it’s possible to listen to “praise music” to, and from your destination. Kimberly and I both listen to a local FM station and constantly praise the Lord when we are driving around town. In fact, we are disappointed when we travel outside of FM signals and lose reception to our Christian music.
If you listen to music today during your travels, try a change and scan the dial for some praise and worship music. I think you’ll find an amazing difference in attitude that you will have, after praising the Lord instead of listening to “worldly” music or the talk-show of the day. Give thanks to the Lord through songs today.
