restoration from sin

Yesterday was an interesting day. I read the book of Amos; it’s not very long. But the interesting part is how everything (throughout the day) fit together like a puzzle.  Let me explain through the Scripture and the activities:

Amos 1:3  “The people of Damascus have sinned again and again…

Amos 2:1 “The people of Moab have sinned again and again…

Amos 2:4  “The people of Judah have sinned again and again…

Amos 2:6 “The people of Israel have sinned again and again…

See a pattern?  Now, read this, which I saw yesterday on a poster:

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14

Need more?  I also read this yesterday:

Amos 9:11 “In that day I will restore the fallen house of David. I will repair its damaged walls.

I no longer believe in coincidences. I happen to believe that all things work out for a reason…

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God – Romans 8:28

So you may be asking, “Now what? How does all this fit together?”  First: If you read closely, to me, the combination of all these things reminds us that if all these people sinned (and I didn’t list all of them), then how much better are we? Haven’t we sinned? Second: God tells us that if we, His people, humble ourselves and turn back to Him (God), then He will heal us.

What are we waiting for?  We know we’ve sinned (individually….and as a country).  Let’s turn this country around NOW and seek God!
