Days get so hectic that sometimes we just don’t take time to relax and forget about things. But more so than that, during these hectic days, we sometimes blame others for things that they didn’t even mean to do.
So now what? Well, let’s look to Scripture for the answer (Colossians 3):
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Isn’t that nifty (God compares our forgiveness of others to His forgiveness of us). You see, sometimes we hold grudges against people – but wait a minute – just think if God held a grudge against us for some of the petty things we hold grudges against other people for? Oops! Well, we better forgive them NOW!
Speaking of forgiving others, it’s interesting to me that this passage continues in stating:
14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
A perfect completion to all things. Remember “God is Love!”
