Do you bring the Kingdom come?

My latest travels to NC found me listening to Christian music (of course). And this time, I heard a recent song by Jason Gray: With Every Act of Love. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4bB7BUxBbY

Very simply, the song reminds us to bring Jesus to the world with every act that we do. The chorus:

Oh, we bring the kingdom come
Oh, with every act of love
Jesus, help us carry You
Alive in us, Your light shines through
With every act of love
We bring the kingdom come

What I love about coincidences is that they are not (in my mind) coincidence. God plans things in a certain way for us to better understand and learn. Yesterday during Sunday School, I spoke about a time when God used me to witness to an angry person, against my will. I say “will” because I didn’t want to be in the presence of the individual, but God had much different plans. In the end, His plan was much better than mine, and I believe God used me to plant seeds in this person’s life.

The lyrics of Jason Gray’s song continues:

God put a million, million doors in the world
For His love to walk through
One of those doors is you
I said, God put a million, million doors in the world
For His love to walk through
One of those doors is you*

I believe that God has a plan for each of us. What is His plan for you? When will He use you to reach someone? Or have you already heard from God, and you are resisting like I did. I think I probably resisted for a long time (and granted I still do). But aren’t we failing God when we do?

‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.’ -Matthew 25:40 (NIV)

Let God’s love walk through us into this world:

Oh, with every act of love
Jesus, help us carry You
Alive in us.
